Q: How long does a whole house inspection take?
A: Our whole house inspections can take anywhere from two
to three hours, depending on the size and condition of the
home.
Q: Do I as the buyer have to be present for the inspection?
A: We certainly like our buyers to present for the inspection,
but it is not absolutely necessary that they attend. We want
our home inspections to be a learning experience for the buyers.
The inspector will show them the mechanics of the home, how
they work, and would be available to anwer any questions they
might have. This is especially beneficial if you're a first
time home buyer.
Q: How do I get my report?
A: We deliver our reports electronically through Home
Gauge. When an inspection is completed, the report is
uploaded to Home Gauge, and you'll receive an e-mail alerting
you that your inspection report is uploaded and ready to view.
In the body of the e-mail is a user name and password for
your report. Also included in the e-mail is a link that will
take you directly to the page where you put in your user name
and password. As soon as you do that, your report will be
available for you to view, print off or e-mail to someone
else.
Q: How long will it take for me to get my report?
A: With the electronic delivery you can usually have your
report by the next business day.
Q: What if I don't have e-mail?
A: Even if a buyer doesn't have an e-mail address, we still
e-mail the report to the buyer's agent, and the agent can
provide a copy or set up a time to go over the report with
the buyers. For those who don't have e-mail and are out of
state or don't have an agent, we are more than happy to mail
you a hard copy.
Q: How much does a whole house inspection cost?
A: Most houses are $295. A large house with multiple heating/cooling
systems and electrical services will be more. Payment is due at the time of inspection.
